Second week of my teaching practice started today. I used to share some positive quotes for them everyday... Like wise i did the same today also ... One boy was absent today.... And one came 10 min after the class started . I was doing the reading part then. For him i again repeated the steps.... Or else i was sure that he won't be able to follow the class. They asked almost all the difficult words i have included in my presentation. And the happy part of today's class was the ppt included many memes from film and children clearly identified the situation it actually helped them to related with the meanings easily....i received correct answers when i asked them questions from todays portion... All the three did the discourse activity. Their active participation remained throughout nthe class... So in short today was yet another day which i felt complete satisfaction as a teacher trainee...

 Self Reflection

    As usual I shared the meeting link to my students 15min before the class. Three of them joined at exact time and one boy was absent. I think it may b because of some network issues. For entry activity I gave sentences from yesterdays portion in a shuffled manner. They all identified and rearranged the sentences correctly.  I was very happy that they still continue to ask me extra words and doubtful situations. It indicates how effectively they are thinking and making connections. They also did the discourse activity  and even added some extra and innovative sentences to it.  I asked them to read the portions study since it is weekend and they have enough time for reference and preparation.

 Self Reflection

Fourth day of my teaching practice also was completed smoothly. Today my students didn't faced any network issue . For entry activity I gave them a set of jumbled words. They easily identified it and connected it with the lesson. As usual they gave positive responses throughout my class.... One of my students had sent the completed homework which I gave them in the last class.  So in short  I am really enjoying this practice session.

The 3rd day of my practice session also went well . My students joined the meeting on time. Today a new student also joined. For his information i gave a brief gist of  the so far covered portion. I included odd one out as todays entry activity. Students correctly picked out the odd word from the group and even explained about it. They also submitted last class' homework. Today no teachers came for observing my class...some  net work issue reccured through out the session so i kept on repeating some points . Because of that my class took a little longer time today...but I am not considering it as a big issue since all i want is to impart knowledge to the students.... So it is my duty to make it clear for them.... Apart from the net work issue todays class was another good experience for me.

Teaching Practice 2

 Self Reflection

Today was my second practice session. Since there was some net work issue I re-scheduled my class to Morning 8.00-8.30. My children joined the class on time. Today I had only 2 students since 2 others faced network issues. Today I prepared true or false as the entry activity.  when I asked the  questions they both answered it correctly. Not even single answer was marked wrong. It gave me enough confidence to proceed todays class. Like yesterday todays session was also  really interactive . They asked me doubts , unknown words and when I asked them to list the known words they said words which have got some connections with last days portion. I was really happy to know about their ability to recollect. 

One of my teacher came for observation in between. I became little conscious then. I felt doubtful whether they will continue in the same manner if they see a new participant in the meeting. But it was only my misconception.  Students continue to be like how they used to me. and gave all the expected responses.  Because of them I regained by lost spirit and continued the class. After the class my teacher said that I had become a potential teacher now and she asked me to maintain the spirt throughout my career. It was  an eye watering moment for me. All this happed because of the vibe I got from the students. Without them it would be an utter flop. So all my thanks to my students

Teaching Practise 1

 Self Reflection

    Today our first session of teaching practice started. We got a group of boys from BNV Boys school. They were all in standard 9. We arranged classes according to the convenience of our students since some of their parents are working . So today I scheduled it at 7.30-8.00 p.m. Most of my friends classes were taken in the morning session itself so after their class the comments I received from them was immensely negative. Many complained about the reluctant nature and careless attitude of student. And they also said that they are not at all responding while asking questions. So I was really sad and tensed about my class. 

    Before my class I  wholeheartedly prayed to god for giving me a smooth experience . I don't know why but may be because of God's grace I got a group a really good children.  They gave me the confidence though their positive attitude towards me. All the questions I asked were warmly welcomed by them. apart from the net issues that came in between I had a really good start today. It is only because of my children. They really co-operated with me. 

    Before the class I gave them some basic instructions and made them familiar about g-meet platform. They all followed it easily. One thing I loved about todays class was that they asked me doubts and those areas that lacked clarity. It was an unexpected pleasure of me. I never had this  positive vibe even in my peer teaching session. So I gave my maximum input today . My class teacher also came in between  and she said about the pleasure and comfortless that was evidently visible on my face .Towards the end my children suggested me to shift the time to morning so that they won't confront any net issues like today . So I am planning for that. In short today was one of my happiest days of teaching . I hope by Gods grace this positivity will last till the end of my teaching practice.

 Self Reflection

    Today was our last peer teaching session. I was very much excited today since it is my last class with my peer group. The class went well.  Even though I made some silly mistakes in between my peer group cooperated with me. I had some personal issues today with my background and all so i was distracted in between my class that was the only problem I faced today
    I would like to consider this opportunity as a great chance from the authorities since it gives us an experience on all the positive and negative effects of an online class. Monday onwards we have  our official teaching practice with students. Now I feel little confidence to take online class and I am sure that I can handle all the possible outcomes of an online class.

Self Reflection

    I was very happy today because my todays class went well. I didn't make much mistakes today. and all the steps and instruction were given clearly. responses from the side of my peer group was also well enough to boost up the quality of my class. Since all the teachers observed my class, there was no more observations today. Therefore it was a tension free atmosphere . My peer group did the Entry activity well and therefore it was easy for them to link with the portion today. The discourse was also completed within time. So overall i had a great experience today.

 Self Reflection

I had the second last hour today.... I thought my peer group would be very much tired after continuous 3 hour class but they never showed it.... I got wonderful responses from them... In between my class my teacher also joined she watched my class and gave many tips for my improvement. She suggested me to prepare slides on discourse question so that i can maintain continues eye contact with my students. I only wrote date on my board. She also pointed to include the day too.. somewhere between the sentences i made a grammar error also she noticed it and asked me not to repeat such silly mistakes....she not only gave these suggestions but also said about my class as a good one with sustained energy . I was actually waiting for her observation because a teacher can only pinpoint the minute errors which is unnoticeable to normal eyes. So I am glad today  and I will make necessary corrections in my next class .

 Self Reflection

I was very happy after today's class because when I prepared for today's entry activity I couldn't find a video related to the situation. So I was little less confident . But  activity which i prepared went really well. It helped them to connect easily with todays portion. I regained my confidence after that.....  I tried my level best to maintain the vibe through out my class. And I somehow succeeded in attaining that..... I also got good responses from my peer group which helped me in raising up my teaching style. So overall today was also a nice experience for me .

Self Reflection 

Today was my 6th peer teaching session. I took the class in the 3rd hour. I gave a conversation as todays entry activity. Students really liked it. It was a conversation between Nightingale and the Rose plants. My peer group read it interestingly and responded to all questions posed by me. I was more active today. I gave the instructions and explanations clearly. I could sense that my communication is improving day by day. I made less grammatical errors too. So overall I m satisfied with my performance today.

Self Reflection

    Today onwards we started our peer teaching parallel session. I only had six peers in my group. They all responded well when i took the class. I tried my maximum to maintain a good vibe . My peer group also had the same opinion. They all liked the video which  I have shown as an entry activity. It really helped them to link it with todays portion. I took a great effort to find a proper video that could be linked effectively with the lesson.. Therefore I felt very happy when they liked and linked it . So overall todays class was a great experience for me. I will always try to maintain this quality in my class and will come up with more innovative session in the coming classes also.

 Self reflection

    Every class gives you a new lesson. I was really sad after my 3rd class and therefore today on my 4th peer teaching session I was well prepared. Even though it was heavily raining outside and in a way inside my mind in the form of tension, I made up my mind that whatever comes in my way will be converted to my stepping stone to attain more perfection. My hard work met the expectation. Today I performed really well. After my class I was very mush satisfied because I managed to commit less grammatical error today. I was conscious enough not to make any spelling errors and I did the same. My peer group also had the same opinion. They all said positive comments about my class.
    I wish to say that as human beings we should commit small mistakes in life only then we can enjoy how sweet it is to taste ones success. I am not saying that I have accomplished all the potentials of a teacher. But today onward I was quite sure that practice helps to overcome our flaws to a great extend like a saying  - " Practice Makes a Man perfect".

 Self Reflection

The morning vibe which we get after waking up really influence our performance in the whole day...so we need to ensure a positive atmosphere when we wake up.... I know its not possible everytime.. still we need to do our contribution for making that happen...

Today when i woke up itself i was feeling really irritated because of my sinus issues. My head was tearing apart...still i managed to gather all my positivity since i have my 3rd peer teaching in the first hour.

 Actually I m not at all satisfied by my performance today. I didn't get that flow I used  to have.... i made many grammatical errors...I was conscious that i am making mistakes,but still i was not able to rectify it , i dont know what was actually happening to me at that time. My observation teacher said she saw excellent teaching potentials in me .... And said about my energy level, my interactions, clear cut instructions and all.... I was really happy when she said alle these things.  But the mistake of the day was regarding the spelling . I made a spelling error while i wrote the name of the author on the board.... As a teacher these kind of acts are unpardonable... I realized how big that mistake was. I am quite sure that I won't make any such error in my future sessions .

Today was my observation class. I was little nervous when I saw my teacher's name popping up while I started to take class. But my tension turned into excitement when i received positive comments from her.... She didn't say anything negative about my class. I too personally felt my class was far better than the previous one. I adjusted my board fitting to the distance between camera. Therefore my peer group was able to see it more clearly than the previous class. I consciously tried to avoid personal gestures in between and maintained a smile through out my class . I believe smile can create a positive impact on students ..they also gave responses to my questions. So over all it was a nice experience today... I hope i could bring new innovations in the next class.

Peer Teaching 1- Self Reflection

Self Reflectin

Impact of covid 19 pandemic has resulted in the upside down shift in the age old customs and practices .It's effects was also felt on educational field also. Everything has moved to online mode of transaction. As a result our teaching practice was also conducted through Google platform . It has been planned to conduct through different phases. The first phase is "Peer Teaching". Yesterday onwards peer teaching had started in our college.

Today was the second day of peer teaching. I was assigned to take class today. I took a poem titled 'Song of the Flower' by Khalil Gibran. I thought a poem would be a good opening,that's why I took it as my first topic. I was little tensed but I cunningly covered it with a smile. Since it was an online mode I was keen to include all the online mode of teaching techniques. I used some slides to show the authors details, meaning and discourse activity. I also included a video to teach the poem because I was sure that video will give a visual learning experience to my peer group.

Since it was my first class I commited some mistakes also. The biggest mistake was done regarding the title of the poem. I took the poem 'Song of the flower' but at some point switched to song of 'a dream' . There was also lack of blackboard visibility since my camera and blackboard distance was adjusted improperly. I also used some informal gesters like 'ah','eh' etc...

There are many limitations in an online mode of transaction but the mistakes I made today is repairable....so I hope I can correct it and make my upcoming classes better than today's.
