 Content Analysis

The lesson ‘Tolstoy Farm’ is an extract from Gandhiji’s autobiography, ‘The Story of my Experiments with Truth’ where he describes his life with the inmates of the Tolstoy Farm.

Learning Aids               :  PPT, Laptop

Learning Outcomes      : 

·        To inculcate human values such a self-less service, truth, sacrifice, etc.

·        To develop a positive attitude to life by cultivating  engaging in self – less services and     adjusting to the existing environment.

·        Get familiarized with new words and language elements.

Informal Interaction

Teacher communicates informally with the learners to create a good rapport, then teacher creates interest and readiness in the learners by showing some famous quotes and asks them to identify the person behind it.

Entry Activity

To create mental readiness among students, teacher asks to collect the pictures, images,quotes on Gandhiji and prepare an album.

Link Talk

Teacher leads the pupil to the lesson by asking the name of Gandhiji’s autobiography. The teacher slowly guides the learner to the lesson, by showing a picture of the author along with the title of the lesson.

Model Reading

The teacher reads a few paragraphs from the lesson with correct stress, pronunciation and intonation.

Process Reading

Teacher now asks the students to read the story silently while reading they are asked to find out the meaning of difficult words from the glossary.

Conclusion

The teacher concludes the day’s lesson by giving the gist of the lesson .The first paragraph deals with the people of the Tolstoy Farm .The second paragraph deals with the need for education .Then the teacher recalls the main points regarding the lesson.
