Contend Analysis Marvellous Travel is a beautiful poem written by Joshua Fernandez about his travelling experiences. This poem depicts the life of a person who leaves everything to enter a journey. He describes what he has seen or felt throughout this experience while he leaves. Learning Aids : PPT, Laptop Learning Outcomes : The learner ➢ Develops interest to read and comprehend stories related to sports ➢ Develops a positive attitude towards sports and other athletic events ➢ Gets familiarized with new words and language elements
Classroom Interaction Procedure	Assessment / Response
Informal Interaction Teacher communicates informally with the learners to create a good rapport, then teacher creates interest and readiness in the learners by showing the video of different places and asks them weather they love travelling. Entry Activity To create mental readiness among students teacher presents a short video clip of the previous poem “From a railyway carriage” and asks them to list the scenes they have seen while travelling. Link Talk Teacher leads the pupil to the lesson by sharing some travel experiences. Then teacher introduces the title of the poem “ Marvellous Travel” by Joshua Fernandez. Model Reading The teacher reads the first two paragraphs of the story with correct stress and with proper pronunciation. Process Reading Teacher now asks the students to read the story silently while reading they are asked to find out the meaning of difficult words from the glossary. Sharing with peer Collaborative reading Megaphoning the Doubts Glossary reference with teacher’s supports ❖ Horoscope- /ˈhɒrəskəʊp/, a birth chart. ❖ Race- /reɪs/ a group of people descended from a common ancestor ❖ Tribesman- /ˈtrʌɪbzmən/,   a man belonging to a tribe in a traditional society or group ❖ Lace- /leɪs/ a fine open fabric of cotton or silk, made by looping, twisting, or knitting thread in patterns and used especially for trimming garments ❖ Testimony- /ˈtɛstɪməni/, a public recounting of a religious conversion or experience Scaffolded Reading Teacher reads the passage and explains the meaning of the passage 1. Why does the poet say that he travels with his ‘eyes’ and ‘thought’? 2. What does the poet mean by ‘ I travel with my pen’? 3. Who are the different people the poet meets during his journey? 4. ‘That something new, would spring into my horoscope’. What does this line mean? 5. ‘Every experience is worth life’s journey’. What does the poet mean by this? Loud Reading Teacher asks all learners to read the poem aloud . Discourse Construction Teacher asks the students to write a diary entry on their travel experience Student presentation Teacher finalization Conclusion The teacher concludes the day’s lesson by giving a gist of the poem. Then shows a video of the poem Follow up activity Teacher asks the students to write a paragraph on their travel experience

Classroom management	With use of adequate online techniques, the teacher maintained a good command over the class.	The ppt and the explanations put forward by the teacher was very helpful to retain interest of students.
Closure of the lesson	Teacher gave an extended activity to write a short paragraph on the travel experience.	Teacher managed to cover up all the topics within the time limit.
