 SELF  REFLECTION

My seventh peer teaching session started at 11 and lasted up  to 11:30. 12th and 13th paragraph of the lesson. The school for sympathy was taken for the class. Class was live as usual. Teacher gave an activity card in which students were asked to fill and mark the correct order of the sentences. It helps to link the lesson very easily. Certain words like murmur was demonstrated within the class and others were presented through power point presentations .Words were explained by including real life situation which in turn made the class more lively. Students gave answers for all the scaffolding questions. An interesting discourse activity was given related to pronoun and noun. Students participations was up to peak level. The interest shown made me confident to deal the teaching process in a good manner.

Today was my observation class. I took the class from 9:30AM - 10:00AM. Today I gave 4 strips to the students on which different activities to act was written. It included deaf, dumb, blind, lame. Students energetically participated in the lesson's entry activity and therefore it was easily linked with today's portion. They actively listened throughout the class and all the answers were given correctly when scaffolding questions were asked.

My Principal came for my observation today. She suggested me to be more energetic. So I will correct all my flaws and bring more power into my class from the next class onwards.

Online teaching practise-week 1 and innovative work

    The second phase of online teaching practice started on  February 1.   My teacher divided us into 2 groups . In my group there were 6 members. We were assigned to take classes for the students of 9th  standard from Venganoor Girls High School. The class teacher of V.G.H.S asked us to take classes from part two of the English text. Accordingly we took The Jungle air crash and divided it into 9 lessons.
     I got 5 students from V.G.H.S for my practice session., but only 2-3 joined in all the classes . It may be because of the network issues. In the beginning I felt really sad since I didn't got enough responses from their side. later I got used to it.  But on thursday my students were more interested to attend the class since I showed my innovative work to them they eagerly read the comic prepared by me  and  on Friday they continued to show some improvement when compared to the previous class.  They started responding and became more involved when compared to the last class. Some of them started sending homework's.  I took 5.30-6.00 as time for teaching  and I concluded the class on time. So I hope this situation would improve in my next class

 Self Reflection

Today was my fifth class. Maybe because today was Saturday only six students were present in my class. I got the class timing from 1:00PM - 1:30PM. My students were really energetic from the beginning after the entry activity in particular. They shared their experience of seeing a blind or a deaf person. After collaborative learning, they gave a brief summary of the lesson and also asked the word meanings. They keenly observed the explanation given by me thereafter and gave correct answers for all the questions. When the discourse activity was given they eagerly came up and wrote the answers on the space provided. The student participation was high today, so I really enjoyed today's class.

Self Reflection 

My fourth peer teaching started at 10:30AM today. The students were really energetic as usual. The highlighting point of today's class was regarding the entry activity. When a student was called out to act blind, she really did her role excellently. She couldn't find her place without my assistance since her eyes were tied up. The portion I explained today was easily relatable due to this activity. The sufferings undergone by the blind and the helping mentality of the others were easily absorbed. All the questions were also answered by them. So today was also a nice teaching experience for them.

Today was my third peer teaching. My class started at 11:30AM and lasted till 12:00PM. I as a teacher showed a video and that video really conveyed the idea of kindness to the students really well. They clearly identified the theme and this successfully marked with the portion concerned today. Students listened to the class and clearly identified the meaning of the glossary discussed. They even gave the right answers to all the questions. During discourse activity, they correctly matched column A with B. The positive atmosphere created was maintained throughout the class and thus today was also a nice teaching experience for me.

Today was my second peer teaching. It started at 11:00 AM. I gave some jumbled words and asked them to identify them. Students rearranged it and except for one, all other words were identified. The explanation given by me was also really effective and it helped them to link the previous lesson with today. Today's class was completely based on ICT, so every explanation was displayed using ICT as a teaching aid. They also prepared the discourse work to make a notice within the time. One of the students gave a brief summary after the class. Overall today's class was really peaceful and I got hell satisfaction as a teacher.

 Self Reflection

My peer teaching session successfully made a start today. My class was almost full except for one child. I was a little nervous since it was my first direct experience after a long period of online teaching practice, but all my fear melted when I started my class. My students welcomed me with a pleasant smile. That erased off all my instability. I gained some energy thereafter and successfully completed the class. One negative regarding today's class was I forgot to take attendance. I also forgot to remove my teaching aid after presenting. The discourse activity given was really interesting to them and they wholeheartedly participated in it. I hope all the rest of my classes also goes smoothly as today.

Teaching Practice 10

Self Reflection😉

The true value of something can be easily felt only after it is no more. Today was my last day of teaching practice. I couldn't express how much I enjoyed these 10 days. Time files  and my teaching practice was also completed successfully.

Today I took poem for them. It took me some more additional time to complete my lesson since the poem was too long and I wanted to clear every aspects of it I gave my blood and sweat to my class. My students were energetic today. They gave positive responses throughout the class.  Everyone came on time and I was so happy to see all the 4 in my last class.

After the class  some of them gave me feedbacks about my class . They had the opinion that my class had no flaws except the net work disturbances. I was really overwhelmed to hear positive comments. 

As a student teacher these days really helped me to mold myself as an inspiring teacher. I hope the steps ,techniques and few tricks I followed to catch hold of the hearts of my students will help me to adapt to different challenges which I may confront in future.

Teaching Practice 9

                                                            Self Reflection

        Second last day of my teaching practice had some change in the time schedule. Since my students confronted some time clash with the present time I pre-ponded the class to morning 6.00-6.30. I had the doubt whether they would wake up or not, but to my surprise all the 4 students came on time. May be because it was early morning, no net issues and other disturbances came in between. So the class went smoothly. I always asked some questions or called their names to make sure they are not sleepy. They listened my class keenly and gave right answers for scaffolding questions. Today I gave -letter to friend -as discourse activity. One of the student wrote it and read aloud. All others listened carefully to the way he wrote the answer. My version was also given to them for reference. Since no other disturbance came in between I could finish my class on time and today I completed the lesson which I had been teaching them for the last 8 days.

    I successfully completed my 8th day of practice session. today I confronted many network issues.  My students said they couldn't see my screen while I was giving the glossary. Then I explained the words for them. One of my students lost his connection in between and automatically left from the class. Apart from this no other issue was there. Even in the midst of these issues I  somehow managed to give them proper explanations. They all gave correct answers when I asked them scaffolding questions. Class room  activity also had whole hearted participation from my students. Today also I finished the class on time.
